 Re: Wild Arms: Hiades Legacy
Its time- I'm gonna set up a play list and start working on the opening of the story. This is a ROUGH DRAFT- please do not read it with anger, if something is wrong, inform me and we can fix it- I'm hoping I can work with Elmina and we can do this together- we'll see how tonight plays out, for now... its time to get to work.

 Re: Wild Arms: Hiades Legacy
Read it, loved it, commented on it. We could extend it a fair bit. I wouldn't mind being the editor of sorts if you guys want.
After we flesh out this opening, we can start on the rough outline and really get pumping! After Boomer finishes his rough sketch of Zeikyfries, I'm going to attempt to line/colour unless Vahn wants to do that so I can hop right on spriteys. Either way is fine by me.
For locations on Hiades...I think the majority of that is left in the dark 'officially'. So many of the exact locations and landmarks are going to be up to us to forge for ourselves.

Edit as you please, if you can manage to put filler in there, by all means-

Thanks! This is the role I take in my own game company as well, so taking on a similar role for this will be easy. I'll see what I can do.

 Re: Wild Arms: Hiades Legacy
Sooo. We have basic script for first scenarios.
Now, shouldn't we make a basic storyline thing for what happens in the game? For reference. More detailed version of:
Opening | Zed/Zeiky/etc. scenarios | AuraHarken + portal = profit | Get send to Hiades | ????

 Re: Wild Arms: Hiades Legacy
I'll be helping Zed with writing now mostly as well as fixing up art concepts. When it comes time to sprite though, I may back off the writing a bit and just focus solely on sprites and their animations.
Since Elmina stepped down a little, I'll exercise my writing skills by sprucing up the opener.
Yes, now you guys can move onto the actual OUTLINE of events. I'll take care of that beginning and post up soon. I promise.

 Re: Wild Arms: Hiades Legacy
Well, this took several hours to read through - and several times having to resist the urge to revive old arguments which are just frustrating to look back on and see what was going on (sorry, the whole Elmina/Lady Harken argument was slightly stupid - I'm going to make a topic back in the WA section from theories on that without the politics of this fan game behind it).
Still, my two cents? The premise is intriguing - I quite like time-travel fan stories as long as the plot is well constructed and thought out, and there seems to be a fair bit of thought on the subject. The idea that they were the cause of what they are trying to avoid is a nice idea as long as the twist isn't given away too early in the story.
I do agree that a dark plot would likely work well with character death(s) but how about instead of planning in advance and causing arguments that people work through the plot outline and see what works out. At the minute you seem to be forcing the idea that Zed has to die into the plotline - would it not be worth some brainstorming about if there is other ways to "powerup" Aura?
I'm personally slightly dubious about the relationship system - I think it'll need to be handled very carefully for it to work, but it's definitely a strong concept to develop further. I'm also dubious about how you're going to use Mother in the game - yes, she's the 2D of 2D characters in both the original and ACF but there is some background there and I think you'll need to be careful about how you develop her if you want her to have a more active role.
Still, what is happening with this? The last development post was the start of September with this section having gone quiet well before then.

 Re: Wild Arms: Hiades Legacy
Interesting concept of a collaborative effort if they're doing it on their own now. But then, maybe that's for the best as reading through the thread in one go it often seemed to be Alhazad's game with this forum as an idea bouncing and collecting resource.
Still, I do think that in the right hands this is the bones of a plot for a good fan fiction (or other fan media of your choice) - but they would need to be a strong and creative writer to get this to work. One who needs to count into account that you either make it for yourself or the fandom - and if it's for the fandom it needs to match canon and perhaps logical fandom as well.

 Re: Wild Arms: Hiades Legacy
I wasn't a writer or part of it, but part of the problem was the lack of commonality between the group that would make the game into something truly great.
Personally, I fell out of this because, well, I don't have much time. Between crafting, college, trying to find work, my several comics, and yes, socializing, I don't have much time for something that everyone's so... Eh, too -personally- passionate about. My art, since I last posted here, has developed a manifold...
I'm kind of sad things have gone the way they have. I would still be greatly interested in working on a fan game of Wild Arms if everyone could cooperate well and decide to be a little less... cliquish, let's say.
I will use my art as a bargaining tool. If a group of Wild Arms fans, this or any other, would like to do a revisionist work of the series, I would love to be part of the creation, both in design and final artwork for people and perhaps monsters, maybe a handful of scenarios.
A word of caution, however. Smaller teams may go either way; closely knit or combative. We've all seen where things have gone already.

 Re: Wild Arms: Hiades Legacy
note to the administrator: under fan games could you make some sort of big thread called wild arms: hiades legacy that contains all of these threads as sub-threads, and then could you lock the main thread (wild arms: hiades legacy) (board index>other>fanworks>fan games>hiades legacy(lock this one)>sub threads)
im only saying to do that because, well, as you can see, this project is dead.
if anybody ever wants to pick it up in the future you could unlock it.
thanks
